Congratulations on your new addition! Puppies need to receive a series of vaccines and dewormings. The first round, a DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) vaccine and dewormer, is usually done around 6-8 weeks of age. Many breeders administer the first round themselves. The DHPP and dewormer are repeated three weeks later, around 9-11 weeks of age. At 12-14 weeks, the puppy should receive a Parvovirus vaccine and another dewormer. At 16 weeks of age, your pet needs to get a rabies vaccine, DHPP or DHLPP vaccine (depending on breed), and its last dewormer. We recommend spaying females or neutering males around 6 months of age. This allows time for development, improves the animal's capability to metabolize anesthetic drugs, and helps to prevent future health problems. On larger breed dogs, we recommend spaying and neutering after 1 year of age so they can finish growing.
Our clinic offers two puppy packages. The package that is best for your puppy depends on two things; your puppy’s age and their previous vaccination history. We will help you choose which package is best for you and your puppy. We offer these packages to give our clients discounts whenever we can. Pre-paying for one of these packages allows us to give a discount that will help you save a considerable amount of money compared to paying for each individual visit with your puppy.
